Orch Dork Camp

About two weeks ago, i had come back from orchestra/band camp.
it was pretty fun actually.
well, minus the 9 hour rehearsal days, and the HUGE food lines, it was great.

even the 15 minute breaks were fun, it consisted of me and my friends sleeping on the fountain.
the funnest part about it all was the talent show.

It was Wednesday june 18, and my friend Catherine and i were preparing to audition for the talent show. We were definitely nervous. But when we got in there, we acting as cool as a cucumber, and handed the judges our lyrics, and THEY STARTED TO LAUGH!! They started to laugh even before we started to rap, so we thought shucks! they wont put us in now.

but we rapped anyways and all they said was "go and practice some more" and on top of that, Catherine saw them put our names down twice.

All night, we could not stop thinking about whether we made it or not, and we said to each other don't get your hopes up, yada yada yada. Every time we said that, it just made us more anticipated.

Finally it was breakfast time, and the selection was supposed to be made, but it wasn't. SO me and Catherine had to go through our whole morning rehearsal thinking about the outcome, instead of "concentrating on our music."

Then at lunch, me and Catherine ran to the elevator, went to the lounge and saw the results.

We were ecstatic!!! We screamed and jumped and screamed and jumped and screamed and jumped some more!!

They actually liked our dumb rap.

Me and Catherine were so stoked for the show, then, Thursday night came along! OH BOY we were nervous wrecks..

but we faced our fear and did our rap.. (we were dressed in jeans with pj shorts on top, and bright pink shirts with white camis on top, bright green eyeshadow, and our hair pulled to the side. Catherine to the left, and Mine to the right.)

To our surprise, people actually cheered! not just clapping, there were whoooooooooos in the crowed, and a couple people actually stood up! yes it was great!

Following that, random people came up to us and said, YOU GUYS WERE AMAZING... HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THAT... THAT WAS THE BEST etc etc

hopefully next year, we can pull something off as great as that...
but that was one of the greatest nights of my life.
